Joseph Pickett named Alumni of the Year

California State University, Fresno, School of Engineering has recognized Joseph F. Pickett as its "Alumni of the Year" for the 2008 / 2009 academic year. Having graduated from CSU Fresno in 1994 with a degree in Construction Management [the Construction Management Department is within of the school of Engineering], Joseph has maintained a close relationship with the Department in both a professional and personal way. Joseph is on the Dean's Advisory Council for the College of Engineering and currently is the Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Construction Management Department. Joseph contributes his time and resources to the CM Department fund raisers and graduation ceremonies as well. "My reasons for staying involved in the CM Department are not for awards or recognition but to help the program maintain the high standards of excellence which were developed early on, long before I attended CSU Fresno. I have witnessed professors and community leaders who have poured their professional lives into this program and I want to help maintain that level of quality. Besides, most of my team [Pickett & Sons Construction] comes from the CM Department and I want to keep that pool of human resources full".
